The opening ceremony of the 2nd stage of FIDE Women’s Grand Prix Series 2011-2012 took place in the hall of the Shenzhen Press Group Building on the 6th of September.
The event was attended by such honourable guests as the FIDE President Mr. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, leader of Shenzhen Special Zone Daily Mr. Chen Yin, Chairman of Chinese Chess Federation Mr. Chu Bo, general manager of Snow Breweries Mr. Zhao Xifang and other official guests.

Introduction of partipants: World Champion and top rated player of the tournament Hou Yifan came to the stage first.
The Chief Arbiter of the tournament IA Sultan Al Taher conducted the ceremony of drawing of lots. Each participant was proposed to choose a box with sign of the zodiac and show the number in their box. Zhao Xue chose Ox and found number 2.
The pairings procedure was resulted in the crosstable according to which we can announce the 1st round pairs: WIM Yildiz Betul Cemre – GM Zhu Chen, GMZhao Xue – IM Munguntuul Batkhuyag, GM Hou Yifan - IMKovalevskaya Ekaterina, IM Muzychuk Anna – GM Danielian Elina, WGM Tan Zhongyi – WGM Ju Wenjun, GM Cmilyte Viktorija –WGM Ruan Lufei
The opening ceremony included choreographic and musical performances that attached a very good mood to the participants and guests of the tournament.
